Salah HMIDA
est un artiste visuel né en 1988 à Sousse, en Tunisie. Maître-assistant à l’université tunisienne, il est titulaire d’une double licence en Arts plastiques : l’une obtenue à l’École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Sousse, en Tunisie, et l’autre à Aix-Marseille Université, en France. Il y poursuit également ses études de Master et obtient un doctorat en Sciences humaines, avec une spécialisation en Arts plastiques, esthétique et Sciences de l’art.
Son travail artistique a été présenté régulièrement en France, dans le cadre d’expositions individuelles et collectives, notamment au Musée de la Bourse et à La Friche la Belle de Mai à Marseille, ainsi qu’à la galerie d’art Espace 361° et à la Galerie ESDAC à Aix-en-Provence, pour n’en citer que quelques exemples. En Tunisie, son pays natal, il a notamment présenté, en 2023, une exposition personnelle à la Galerie d’art Elbirou à Sousse, puis participé, en 2024, à une exposition collective à la Galerie d’art Al Riwak. En 2025, il crée la galerie éphémère Kanta, où il organise l’exposition collective Nihon Rei, réunissant plusieurs artistes renommés autour d’une réflexion artistique et culturelle contemporaine.
Artiste et chercheur actif dans le domaine des sciences humaines, il a publié plus d’une dizaine d’articles scientifiques et contribué à plusieurs ouvrages à l’échelle nationale et internationale. Ses travaux s’inscrivent dans une réflexion humaniste et profondément attachée aux questions de l’humain, de l’existence, du corps et de la transformation.
En 2026, il publie chez la maison d’édition française L’Harmattan son ouvrage intitulé L’œuvre amie : Vers une esthétique de la transformation et une herméneutique affective de l’expérience sensible, consacré aux relations entre l’œuvre, le sujet et l’expérience sensible.

Salah HMIDA
He is a visual artist born in 1988 in Sousse, Tunisia. He is an Assistant Professor at a Tunisian university, and holds two Bachelor’s degrees in Fine Arts: one from the Higher Institute of Fine Arts of Sousse, Tunisia, and the other from Aix-Marseille University, France. He also pursued his Master’s studies there and earned a PhD in Humanities, specializing in Fine Arts, Aesthetics, and Art Sciences.
His artistic work has been regularly presented in France through solo and group exhibitions, notably at the Musée de la Bourse and La Friche la Belle de Mai in Marseille, as well as at Espace 361° Art Gallery and ESDAC Gallery in Aix-en-Provence, to name only a few. In Tunisia, his home country, he presented a solo exhibition at Elbirou Art Gallery in Sousse in 2023, and participated in a group exhibition at Al Riwak Art Gallery in 2024. In 2025, he founded the temporary Kanta Gallery, where he organized the group exhibition Nihon Rei, , bringing together several renowned artists around a contemporary artistic and cultural reflection.
As an artist and researcher actively engaged in the humanities, he has published more than a dozen academic articles and contributed to several books at both national and international levels. His work is grounded in a humanistic approach and is deeply concerned with questions of humanity, existence, the body, and transformation.
In 2026, he published, with the French publishing house L’Harmattan, his book entitled The Friendly Artwork: Towards an Aesthetics of Transformation and an Affective Hermeneutics of Sensory Experience, which explores the relationships between the artwork, the subject, and sensory experience.
